K-12 Educators!

Join us for this year’s Summer Institute, “Towards A More Equitable & Inclusive Digital World In Latin America,” at Vanderbilt University, June 24-28, 2024. For more information, visit the summer institute website or go directly to the application form here.

The institute will introduce participants to Latin Americanist scholars and educators who use digital technology to expand knowledge about Latin America and its people, as well as activists using digital platforms as a tool for social justice in the region. The institute will include hands-on workshops demonstrating how to use digital platforms in the K-12 classroom to address the diverse learning needs of all students. Participants will gain access to digital archives that can facilitate lesson planning and classroom teaching on Latin America.We offer financial assistance to be used for travel, lodging, registration fees, and/or materials. Funds are limited. To be granted a travel award, educators should be willing to create at least one lesson plan based on the content presented during the Institute and submit it by January 8th, 2025.

If interested in financial assistance, please submit a travel award request by February 26, 2024.
